The Western PA Interscholastic Softball League (WPISL) has expanded its Fall League to 70 teams across all divisions beginning at 8u, including 12 local high schools competing at the varsity level.
What started as a regional effort to give more students access to competitive slow‑pitch softball has turned into one of the largest and most successful scholastic slow‑pitch leagues in the state.
But we’re not done yet.
As interest continues to grow, we’re ready to welcome even more schools and communities into the WPISL and create new opportunities for student‑athletes across Western Pennsylvania and beyond.
👉 Here’s where I’m asking for your help: If you’re connected to athletic directors, coaches, school administrators, boosters, or youth sports organizations, a simple share, tag, or introduction can help us reach programs interested in joining the league.
Slow‑pitch softball provides:
Additional opportunities for female athletes
A competitive, inclusive team sport
Minimal barriers to entry for schools
High participation opportunities across skill levels
A positive athletic experience that builds confidence and teamwork
With 70 teams already competing, the foundation is strong — and the future is wide open. Let’s bring even more female athletes into the league and continue supporting the growth of this incredibly exciting sport.
